Mavrovo Tour 2012 will take place on Saturday 16 and Sunday,  17 June. There will be a recreational bicycle tour around Mavrovo Lake as well as a MTB race of 40 km  and 80 km in Mavrovo National Park. . Additional activities will be organised for nature-lovers of all ages, such as scouts activities, kayaking, hiking, etc. The organisers will provide bus transport form Skopje (150 MKD for bus ticket, 50 MKD for transport of one bicycle). Thanks to the sponsors who support Mavrovo Tour, all revenues from this year’s event will be donated to the humanitarian action YOU CAN IF YOU WANT: Let’s construct a paediatric ER at the Children’s Clinic.

Following the tradition, a lottery will be organised with great prizes, such as a bicycle, weekend stays in one of the Mavrovo hotels, shopping vouchers. Everyone  will be able to participate by buying one of the specially designed T-shirts or lottery coupons. Every participant who will wear the Mavrovo Tour 2012 T-shirt will have free entrance to the Ski-lift and the Sarkova Dupka cave.

This year we have two new partners: the Kayak Association of Macedonia and the Scouts Association of Macedonia, who will organise various activities for everyone. Several Macedonian music stars also support Mavrovo Tour and the humanitarian action: Aleksandar Belov and Aleksandra Pileva already confirmed their presence! In addition to this, children from Mavrovo and Rostuse are preparing special performances for all the guests.

The free market on the Mavrovo Square will be opened all day long for everyone who would like to purchase souvenirs or home-made food. If you are from the region of Mavrovo and would like to sell your home-made products on the square, please contact the organisers.

Mavrovo Tour was initiated by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuse and National Park Mavrovo with the aim to promote cycling and the Mavrovo region. The first event took place in 2009, with the support of all hotels around the Mavrovo Lake and the Bicycle Federation of the Republic of Macedonia.
